Nissan Kicks SUV (Hyundai Creta Rival) starts testing in India, launch in 2019

Nissan Kicks SUV is still some time away from a market debut here in India. But, things are on track, and the car has started testing on Indian soil. One unit of the Nissan Kicks SUV was recently spotted road testing, and as of now, we know that the Kicks is on schedule for a early 2019 launch in India. When in showrooms, it will rival the likes of Renault Kaptur and Hyundai Creta.

The Kicks SUV spotted testing was completely camouflaged and was seen around the Nilgiri mountains in southern India.

When launched, expect the Nissan Kicks to have a price tag in the range of INR 9.5 – 15.5 lakh, ex-showroom. It will be the most premium offering from Nissan, and a new car launch after a very long time. Nissan has failed to wow buyers in recent times, and their cars are not really matching up to what the competition has to offer.

The new Nissan Kicks is expected to be powered by the same 1.5L diesel motor producing close to 110 HP of power and a 1.5L petrol engine as well. Just like competition, the Kicks will also be a 2WD only SUV for the Indian market. It measures over 4 metres in length, and is expected to offer good room for cabin occupants.

However, you can see that there are some sheet metal changes to the Nissan Kicks spotted testing and the globally launched model. The Indian version has seen quite a few changes, to make it more suitable to the market taste.
