Nissan has officially revealed the Kicks SUV for the Indian market, but just the exteriors have been showcased for the moment. The interior trims might still be in the finalisation process. The Kicks will be a more premium SUV compared to the dated Terrano, and will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta. Nissan is expected to launch the Kicks in January 2019.
The Nissan Kicks is built on a new Graphene body structure, which in Nissan terms is gravitiy-philic energy absorbtion. The Kicks for India is also different in comparison to the models sold abroad, and measures 4383mm in length, 1813mm in width, 1656mm in height and 2673mm in wheelbase.
The Kicks will sport features such as LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, V-shaped Nissan grille, silver scuff plates at the front and rear, LED boomerang shaped tail lamps, dual tone paint scheme, floating roof effect, roof rails, diamong cut 17″ alloy wheels, blacked out pillars, contrast painted ORVMs, shark fin antenna, body cladding and some chrome accents.
While the interiors were not revealed, we could notice a touchscreen infotainment system, dual tone interiors, 5-seat layout, climate control and the standard gadgetry.
Nissan will mostly likely introduce the Kicks in petrol and diesel engine options. Engines could be the similar units currently doing duty in other Nissan cars, but in a different state of tune to meet future emission norms.
Pricing? In the range of INR 10-15 lakh ex-showroom.
