Nissan Motor India has posted its sales figure for the month of December. The company posted cumulative wholesales of 8,991 units with cumulative wholesale YTD growth of 19 per cent. Nissan mentioned that the year has been challenging on the supply side. Customer interest has been strong, especially during the festive period. Thus higher purchasing power of the customers is driving interest towards aspirational products.
In December, Nissan Motor India showcased its range of Global Premium SUVs at the multi-city “Move Beyond Golf Tournament” in Delhi NCR. This includes X-Trail, Qashqai, and Juke. The Japanese carmarker then flagged off the first edition of the tournament from Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort in Noida.
Nissan Magnite continues to garner significant sales in the B-SUV segment in India. The car has registered over one lakh bookings to date. Launched in December 2020, the Magnite has been designed with inputs from Japan. Magnite perfectly underlines Nissan India’s manufacturing philosophy of “Make-In-India, Make for the World”. The car currently retails at a starting ex-showroom price of INR 5.97 lakh. Nissan also launched the Magnite Red Edition in July 2022. This edition is available at a price tag of INR 7.86 lakh.
Currently, the Nissan Magnite is being exported to over 15 countries. The most recent launches have been in Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. Nissan India started exports in September 2010. And currently exports vehicles from its Renault-Nissan Automotive India Ltd. plant in Chennai to over 108 countries. This includes New Zealand, Australia, and countries in the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, South-East Asia, SAARC, Sub Sahara, and African regions. In recent years, Nissan India has shifted its primary export market focus from Europe to Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
