CEAT tyres has announced that that it will be the OEM tyre supplier for the newly launched Nissan Magnite compact-suv. This is yet another association of Nissan with CEAT, which is India’s leading tyre manufacturer. CEAT will be providing the SecuraDrive tyres and its performance has been tested by Nissan Japan.
The tyre tread, which is one of the most crucial part of a tyre will bear an asymmetrical pattern with solid outer block and an advanced silica polymer which will give a low rolling resistance and thus improves the stability and reduces the tyre noise at high speed. At the launch event, the Nissan Magnite was running on 16-inch alloys with an aspect ratio of 60% and tyre width 195mm thus the tyre size is 195/60/R16 SD 89V.
Nissan has launched the Magnite on 2nd December 2020 and has priced it very aggressively. The price starts from Rs. 4.99 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs. 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). But Nissan has confirmed that this is an introductory price and post-December 31st it will be offered at a starting price of Rs. 5.44 lakh onwards (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available in 4 trims namely – XE, XL, XV and XV Premium.
The engine options are; 1.0-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol motor pumping 72 PS of power at 6,250 rpm and 96 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm and the other engine option is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol motor making a total of 100 PS of power at 5,000 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 2,800-3,600 rpm. There are two gearbox options, a five-speed manual and a CVT (Continous Variable Transmission). The fuel efficiency figures as certified by ARAI is 18.75 kmpl for the naturally aspirated motor with the manual gearbox, 17.7 kmpl for the turbo-CVT and 20 kmpl for the turbo-manual powertrain.
Nissan has loaded it with a long list of features like LED projector lamps with LED turn indicators, chrome beltline and quarter glass moulding, pattern film on the dash with gloss black finishers, black centre console finish, rear AC vents with chrome finish, cruise control and much more. Customers of Magnite will also get an option to buy the Tech Pack which will have a wireless charger, air purifier, JBL speakers, LED scuff plates, ambient lighting and Puddle lamps.
