Nexon facelift Scores 5-stars in GNCAP safety rating

Tata Motors has announced that the Tata Nexon facelift has received 5-star rating from Global New Car Assessment Program (GNCAP). The new Tata Nexon claims 5-stars with (32.22/34 points) in the Adult Occupant Protection as well as 5-stars with (44.52/49 points) for the Child Occupant Protection. This makes the Nexon facelift one of the safest SUV sold in the Indian market.

Tata Nexon Facelift – Adult Occupant Protection

According to GNCAP, the Nexon in the frontal offset deformable barrier test gets 15.118 points. The protection offered to the head and neck of the driver and passenger was good. In addition to this, the protection offered to the knees of the driver and passenger also shows good. The footwell area was also stable and the body shell remained stable and was capable of receiving further loadings.

Tata Nexon Facelift – Child Occupant Protection

The Nexon facelift also offers almost full protection to the the 3 year old child test dummy with size anchorages and a
support leg. The 18-month-old child dummy also gets almost full protection and the test reveals that it was able to prevent head exposure during the frontal impact.

Tata Nexon Facelift – Safety Features

Tata offers the Nexon facelift with frontal airbags, side curtain airbags, side chest airbag, side pelvis airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioner and load limiter as standard. Standard safety features also include ESC, three-point seatbelts for all seats, seatbelt reminder, as well as GTR 9 – UN 127 pedestrian protection.

In addition to this, the Nexon facelift also comes with safety features such as:-

  • Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
  • Emergency (E-call) assistance
  • Breakdown (B-call) assistance
  • 360-degree surround view system
  • Rearview camera
  • Blind view monitoring
  • Front parking sensors
  • Auto-dimming IRVM
  • Tyre pressure monitoring system
  • Front fog lamp with cornering function
  • ISOFIX restraints

GNCAP reveals that the Tata Nexon facelift is has also achieved the second highest Global NCAP score for adult and child occupant safety in #SaferCarsForIndia testing to date. The top rating again goes to Tata’s Safari and Harrier SUVs. It is also important to note, that the 5-star rating from the GNCAP is according to the latest and enhanced 2022 protocols. The Tata Nexon was also the first car in India to receive 5-stars from GNCAP back in 2018.
