New Yamaha FZ spied without camouflage

The Yamaha FZ has been on sale in India for a long time. Apart from changes to the decals, there has been no significant change or addition to the motorcycle since its launch.

Now however, the updated version of the FZ, which was also showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo has been spied again, this time, without camouflage. With competition getting stiffer, seems like Yamaha is all set to give the bike a much required facelift rather than just new decals and paint jobs.

Although the distinctive tank is a giveaway that this is a Yamaha FZ, there are plenty more design changes to the bike. The bike now gets a redesigned headlamp, new air scoops / floating cowls on the sides, a revised tank design, different body panels on the side, split seats for the rider & pillion, new instrument cluster, redesigned exhaust muffler, new decals, different grab rails for the pillion, a different tyre hugger, and some more tweaks here and there.

Also visible in this picture is that the bike now gets dual throttle cables, however the engine is expected to be the same 153cc air-cooled unit from the current version. Will Yamaha provide fuel injection on this new version? Chances are, Yamaha makes some more tweaks to the performance of the bike like they did with the R15 V2.0. The bike should be launched by or before the festive season now that it has started doing the rounds without any camouflage. We will wait for the official launch before mentioning any more specifications.
