TVS Ronin update details

The latest update on the Ronin has added the dual-channel ABS feature on the mid variant of the bike. Additionally, it is now available with two new colour options – Charcoal Ember and Glacier Silver. The pricing of the standard variant is Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom), while the mid-spec version with the dual-channel ABS will cost Rs 1.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

To give Ronin a completely refreshed look, it gets a black casing for the headlight, a redesigned seat, and a slimmer rear mudguard. The rest of the motorcycle is unchanged in terms of the engine, performance, and hardware.

It continues to be powered by the 225.9cc oil-cooled square engine that produces 20.1 bhp of peak power and 19.93 Nm of peak torque. This powertrain is mated to a 5-speed transmission.

The new Ronin model will compete with the segment leader Royal Enfield Hunter 350. However, the Ronin is known for its more practical design, better quality, and peppy city performance.

Our verdict

It has been a long time since the Ronin made it debut in the Indian market. Despite of its feature-packed outlook and a tractable engine, it has not sold in the desired volume that TVS aimed for. The new update is set to bring a fresh flair of change to Ronin’s fate in India.
