TVS Motor Company and TVS Racing are on quite a roll lately. The former recently invested an additional GBP 100 million in Norton Motorcycles, and the latter partnered up with PETRONAS. TVS Motor is also focusing on the domestic market and has teased a new variant of one of their most popular scooters, Ntorq.
New TVS Ntorq 125 variant – What to expect?
The last update to the Ntorq was the Race XP model, which came with additional performance and a new paint scheme. The teaser image focuses on the ‘XT’, which could hint at the variant’s name. Since its launch, the Ntorq has received numerous incremental updates. The two major updates were the Ntorq Race Edition and the recent Ntorq Race XP.
The brand did not update Ntorq’s instrument cluster in any of the updates. Thus, it is likely we could see changes done to it. The new variant could also get a new colour scheme. Even after observing the teaser image closely, one can miss a minor detail. The Ntorq in the teaser image sports a different alloy wheel design. The alloy wheel design has slimmer spokes than the current Ntorq. There is a possibility of them being lighter, which will reduce the unsprung weight. A reduction in unsprung weight will improve the handling and ride comfort of the scooter.
The new variant will most likely be more expensive than the current lineup. The starting price is INR 81,717 ex-showroom Mumbai for the drum variant and tops out at INR 94,472 ex-showroom Mumbai for the Race XP.
