As Royal Enfield is gearing up to launch the Himalayan 450, the company is now testing out the accessories for the motorcycle. A test mule of the bike has been spotted with panniers and aux lights.
Accessories for the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
The test mule was spotted with panniers and a top box. They appear to be finished in aluminium. Amongst these, the side panniers appear same in design as the existing Himalayan. That said, they could appear to have a different load rating. In terms of looks, the panniers could be available in an all-black colour or an aluminium finish.
Meanwhile, the top box appears to be bigger. This could have a storage capacity of around 45 litres. The edges of the box get ABS protection. Combined with the side panniers, riders will have close to 100 litres of storage space available when going on tours. This could enhance the new Himalayan 450 as a tourer.
The current pannier cost INR 29,900 with an extra hardware (pannier rails) cost of INR 3,800.
The bike was also sporting aux lights. They were mounted low, closer to the radiator. While customers can opt for a ton of aftermarket accessories, it is prudent to go for authorised ones as there is electrical work involved. Aftermarket units are likely to void the warranty.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 : More Details
Based on a new 450cc platform, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will spawn a host of other bikes. There is a new single cylinder engine rated at 35 BHP and 40 Nm paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine also comes with a liquid cooling option.
In terms of features, the Himalayan 450 comes with a windscreen, LED lights, upside-down front forks and rear mono shock and a stubby exhaust. There are disc brakes on both wheels with dual channel ABS.
