Land Rover India has started accepting bookings for the new Range Rover Velar. Offered only in the top-end Dynamic HSE form, the Velar is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol or a 2.0-litre diesel engine. Interested customers can configure their car online and book the SUV by paying a token amount of INR 1,00,000. According to the carmaker, the deliveries of the Velar are expected to commence from September 2023.
For starters, the SUV now gets a new reworked grille, comes with pixel LED headlights and gets jewel-like DRLs. The car comes in two new colour options. These include the Metallic Varesine Blue and Premium Metallic Zadar Grey paint scheme along with Deep Garnet and Caraway colours on the inside. Towards the back, there is a bg overhang which showcases the car’s imposing length.
On the inside, the car comes with moonlight chrome on the steering, AC vents and centre console. The other bits are covered in a tactile shadow grey ash wood veneer trim. The Velar is the first car from the Jaguar Land Rover stable to get the next-gen Pivi Pro infotainment. The SUV comes with an 11.4-inch curved touchscreen that can control most of the vehicle functions.
The Pivi Pro features Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto, there is wireless charging and a redesigned centre console.
Range Rover has also incorporated active noise cancellation technology to ensure a minimal road noise intrusion in the cabin. Also included inside is a PM 2.5 Cabin Filter and a nanoe™ X technology to tackle pathogens and reduce odours, bacteria and allergens at the same time.
The British brand is offering the Velar with two engines. The first is a 2.0-litre petrol motor good for 246 BHP and 365 Nm. Meanwhile the 2.0-litre diesel engine puts out 201 BHP and 420 Nm of torque.
While internationally there will also be a 5.0-litre V8 petrol in the SVAutobiography trim, it is not being offered in India.
