MG Motor India is planning to launch a new electric vehicle in the Indian market. Spyshots of a new MG electric car have been doing rounds on the internet. According to spyshots, a test mule of a new MG electric car has been spotted charging during its test session. The MG vehicle though fully camouflaged bear resemblance to the MG Cloud EV.
MG retail the Cloud EV under the Wuling brand in the international market and as the Baojun Yunduo in China. The arrival of the new electric vehicle could be the result of the collaboration between MG and JSW which happened recently. Under the collaboration, MG Motor India and JSW are planning an onslaught of MG branded vehicles for India.
The spied vehicle, which was being charged has a similar charging port to the Cloud EV. In fact spy shots of the side profile also reveal that the spied car is likely to be the Cloud EV. The spied model has similar LED headlamps and taillamps. A closer inspection also reveals that the test mule has similar alloy wheels as seen on the MG Cloud EV.
The MG Cloud EV in the international market, measures 4295mm in length, 1850mm in width, and 1652mm in height. The 5-seater SUV comes with the options of two battery packs – a 37.9 kWh and 50.6 kWh battery pack. The battery packs offer a range of 360 km and 460 km, respectively. The Cloud EV is also likely to come with fast charging support as well.
In terms of features, the Cloud EV is likely get LED headlamps and taillamps. The EV is also likely to come with a 10.1-inch infotainment system with higher variants getting a 15.6-inch touchscreen. The car is also likely to come with a full-digital instruments cluster. MG could also offer the Cloud EV with connected tech as well as safety features such as well as ADAS.
