New Maruti Suzuki Celerio continues road testing wearing camouflage

Maruti Suzuki is planning to upgrade the Celerio small hatchback in the Indian market. The brand is likely to launch the new Celerio by the end of this year. Maruti Suzuki is also likely to reveal the new Celerio during the Diwali season and commence bookings on the model leveraging the festive sentiments. Images of the test mule reveal that the Maruti Suzuki Celerio hatchback will come with changes to the exteriors as well as the interiors. The recent spotting of a test mule reveals that the Indo-Japanese carmaker will be thoroughly testing the car for the Indian market.

New Celerio – Spyshots

The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio comes with a new radiator grille which appears wider and taller than before. The new grille design is likely to offer more space for the air intake and further improve the engine’s thermodynamic efficiency. The front fascia also features new headlamps that are larger and bulbous than before. The fascia also includes a new foglight housing and redesigned front and rear bumpers. The tailgate design also appears to be revised, and so does the taillamp design.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio – Interiors and Features

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is likely to come with a multilayered dashboard with a central infotainment system. The new car will likely come with a new central console with an armrest on the higher-spec models. The new Celerio is also likely to come with a new central console with an armrest new seat upholstery. The car could also come with a semi-digital instruments cluster, digital multi-information display, control mounted steering, keyless entry etc.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio – Engine Specifications

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio will come with a K10B 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine. This engine makes 67 Bhp of power and 90 Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki could also offer a 1.2-litre K12 petrol engine. This engine produces 82 Bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. The Celerio was one of the first models in India to popularise the affordable AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). Therefore, the brand is likely to offer the car a 5-speed AMT and an optional 5-speed Manual Transmission. The brand is also likely to offer a CNG variant of the Celerio.
