Kia Motors has officially slated the launch of the new Kia Carnival on October 3, 2024. However, some Kia dealers have started accepting unofficial bookings for the upcoming luxury MPV.
Kia dealers across India have started accepting bookings for the new Carnival, with a booking amount set at INR 1 lakh, which is fully refundable. This early booking phase is being managed at the dealer level, as Kia has yet to announce the official start of bookings through its corporate channels. The new Carnival will initially be available as a fully imported unit, with local assembly expected to commence at a later stage. There will be only one variant on sale.
The new Kia Carnival is set to be offered in a single, fully loaded variant, packed with a plethora of features designed to enhance comfort and convenience. Key highlights include dual 12.3-inch displays, front and rear dash cameras, a head-up display, a digital rear-view mirror, an updated digital key with fingerprint recognition, and ambient lighting along the dashboard.
Under the hood, the Carnival will be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine, a familiar unit from the previous generation, delivering 197 bhp and 440 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, ensuring a smooth and responsive driving experience.
The new Kia Carnival is expected to be priced around INR 40 to 45 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it in a unique segment with no direct competitors. This pricing strategy places the Carnival above the Toyota Innova Hycross, which tops out at approximately INR 30 lakh, and below the Toyota Vellfire, which starts at INR 1.22 crore.
The official launch of the new Kia Carnival on October 3 will coincide with the introduction of Kia’s EV9 full-size electric SUV, marking a significant expansion of Kia’s premium vehicle lineup in India.
