New Honda City e:HEV production begins in India

Honda has announced that the brand has started the production of the new Honda City e:HEV in the Indian market. Honda will be producing the electric hybrid model at Honda’s world-class manufacturing facility in Tapukara, Rajasthan. The Honda City e:HEV is positioned as India’s first strong Hybrid Electric Vehicle in the mainstream segment. The production of the Honda City hybrid in the Indian market also reaffirms the brand’s commitments to the Government of India’s Make in India policy. 

Honda City e:HEV – Bookings Open & Warranty

Honda has announced that customers can now book the New Honda City e:HEV at all authorized Honda dealerships across the country. Customers can now book the strong hybrid sedan by putting down an amount of INR 21,000. Additionally, customers can also book the car online through the ‘Honda from Home’ platform on the Honda Cars India official website for an amount of INR 5,000.

The brand has not yet announced the pricing of the new Honda City e:HEV, which is likely to be announced soon. Honda is offering a 3-year Unlimited Kilometres Warranty as Standard. In addition to this, the brand is also offering an 8-year or 1,60,000 Km warranty on the lithium-ion battery for complete peace of mind. 

Honda City e:HEV – Hybrid Powertrain 

Powering the Honda City e:HEV is a 1.5-litre Atkinson-Cycle DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine. The Intelligent Power Unit (IPU) features a self-charging and highly efficient Two motor e-CVT hybrid system. The IPU comes with an advanced Lithium-ion Battery. The Honda City e:HEV Hybrid System produces a combined Max Power of 126 PS and 253 Nm of torque paired to an engine-linked direct coupling clutch.

The Honda City e:HEV electric-hybrid system uses three driving modes – EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive. The system also incorporates a Regeneration Mode during deceleration. The brand reveals that an intelligent Power Control Unit ensures seamless and automatic switching between the three modes based on various driving situations. Thanks to the clever powertrain, the brand claims a fuel efficiency of 26.5 km/litre. 

Honda City e:HEV – Safety with Honda Sensing

The Honda City e:HEV comes with features such as an advanced Electric Servo Brake system with all four-wheel disc brakes. Boosting safety is the introduction of “Honda SENSING” for the first time in India. Honda Sensing includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), and Auto High-Beam.

The car also gets 6 airbags; Vehicle Stability Assist with Agile Handling Assist, Hill Start Assist, Honda Lane-Watch, Multi-angle Rearview Camera, ISOFIX compatible Rear Side Seats with Lower Anchorage & Top Tether, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System with Deflation Warning etc.
