New-Generation Skoda Octavia RS introduced in petrol & diesel version

Skoda has introduced the new-generation Skoda Octavia and the Skoda Octavia Scout in a virtual world premiere. Earlier, the Czech auto manufacturer had unveiled its first electrified RS model in the form of the Skoda Octavia RS iV plug-in hybrid. The brand has now further introduced the traditional petrol and diesel version Octavia RS in both the 5-door liftback and the estate body styles.

The Skoda Octavia RS, similar to the Octavia RS iV comes with a 245 PS/370 Nm petrol powertrain derived from the 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged four-pot petrol engine matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG, whereas the Octavia RS iV features a 6-speed DSG transmission. The Skoda Octavia RS also comes with a 200 PS/ 400 Nm 2.0-litre TDI diesel unit with an exclusive 7-speed DSG and an optional 4-wheel drive system.

On the exterior, the Skoda Octavia RS features exclusive front and rear aprons with copious amounts of black finishers consisting of a black vertically slated RS-specific grille with silver RS badging, Skoda grille air curtains and RS-specific air curtains with aero flaps, full LED Matrix headlights, RS-specific LED foglights, 19-inch alloy wheels, typically Red painted brake callipers, gloss black B-pillars, black RS badge on the tailgate, RS-specific aero flaps and diffuser finished in black on the rear apron, black RS spoiler on the liftback and car matching spoiler on the estate.  

On the Interior, the Skoda Octavia RS comes in a predominantly black cabin finish with a redesigned multifunction leather sports steering wheel that has three spokes and bears the RS logo, 10-inch virtual cockpit with a sports layout, 10-inch centrally mounted free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with an RS-specific welcome, new buttons and new knurled wheels in chrome design, front sports seats with integrated headrests are upholstered in black fabric with RS emblem, optional ergonomic seats with Alcantara leather with seat-depth adjustment and a massage function, coloured decorative stitching in red or silver-grey on seats, armrests steering and Alcantara covered instruments panel, carbon-effect decorative strips and pedals in an aluminium design and decorative Red strips on the dashboard fascia. 

In related news, Skoda has also introduced the Octavia G-TEC, which is designed to run on natural gas (CNG).
