Royal Enfield introduced its new J-series engine on the Meteor 350. Following this, the brand also updated the Classic 350 and recently introduced the Hunter 350. All three motorcycles use the J-series engine. However, Royal Enfield did leave out one model from its 350cc lineup, the Bullet 350. The brand continues testing the new Bullet 350, and we have some new spy shots which show what to expect.
The latest spy shots suggest that the new generation Royal Enfield Bullet is inching closer to its launch. The test mule also has minimal camouflage. But, there aren’t many major changes to hide. The design of the retro bike will remain similar to the Classic 350. However, there will be a few differences to set them apart.
The new Bullet 350 gets a different rear fender design than the Classic 350. Additionally, unlike the Classic 350, the Bullet 350 gets a single-piece seat. The test mule also features an identical taillamp and indicators as the Classic 350. The same will likely carry forward to the production-spec model.
We also see that the Bullet 350 will do away with the single-cradle frame and use a double-downtube frame, similar to other modern Royal Enfields. This is thanks to the new J-series platform.
The new Bullet 350 will get the same J-series engine as the newer 350cc offerings from Royal Enfield. The engine is good for 20 PS of power and 27 Nm of torque. It is unlikely that Royal Enfield would make changes to the engine. Thus, expect the new Bullet 350 to have similar output figures. The current Bullet 350 does not get any electronic features to boast of. However, the upcoming Bullet 350 could feature Royal Enfield’s Tripper navigation pod, at least as part of optional accessories.
With a price range of INR 1.48 lakh to INR 1.63 lakh ex-showroom, the current Bullet 350 is the most affordable Royal Enfield one can buy. However, because of the major changes the new model will get, expect to see a significant bump in its price. Currently, the Hunter 350 retails between INR 1.50 lakh to INR 1.68 lakh ex-showroom. But with the new J-series engine, we’ll have to wait and see if the new Bullet 350 continues to be the most affordable Royal Enfield or if the Hunter 350 takes over the mantle.
