The much-anticipated debut of the new-generation Jeep Compass SUV is drawing near, with the global unveiling expected in the first half of 2025. Jeep has already released a teaser image, giving a glimpse of the upcoming model.
The next-gen Compass will be built on the STLA Medium platform of its parent company, Stellantis. This platform is designed to support a variety of powertrain options, including ICE (Internal Combustion Engine), mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric variants. The new Compass is expected to offer both 2WD and 4×4 setups, similar to the current generation.
Powertrain options for the new Compass include a 136 bhp 48V mild-hybrid unit, a 195 bhp rechargeable (plug-in hybrid) variant, and even a 100% electric option with three states of tune: 210 bhp, 230 bhp, and a top-of-the-line 320 bhp version. This diverse range of powertrains is aimed at catering to different market preferences and driving needs.
In terms of design, the new Compass will feature a pronounced shoulder line, flared wheel arches, and a reduced rear overhang. The teaser image also hints at a floating roofline and wrap-around headlamps and taillamps. The overall length of the new model is projected to be around 4,500 mm.
The new Compass is expected to go into production during the second half of 2025, with prices for the entry-level 2WD variants starting from around 40,000 euros. The SUV is set to be launched in India by late 2025, making it one of the first markets to receive the new model.
The Jeep Compass has been a popular model in India. It has been a while that it got a real update. The Compass did get some updates cosmetically, however they were very minimal. The new Compass will bring new powertrains to the Indian market and we expect that the 138 hp mild hybrid will make it to India.
