Kia is soon going to launch the all-new Seltos SUV in India. And if that is going to happen, obviously Hyundai has an answer which will be sharing most of the Seltos underpinnings. The next-generation Hyundai Creta has already been revealed as a concept and spotted testing on international soil. Now, the all-new Creta which will be launched in 2020 has hit the Indian streets for testing and evaluation. We expect Hyundai to launch the new Creta at the 2020 Indian Auto Expo.
The next-gen Creta will be based on the same chassis as the Kia Seltos. All the engine and gearbox options will also be the same, which includes a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.4L turbocharged petrol and 1.5L turbocharged diesel; all matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Automatic gearbox options available on the Seltos as CVT, 7-speed DCT & 6-speed AT respectively depending on the engines. The same will also be shared with the new 2020 Creta SUV.
The Hyundai Creta has dominated the mid-size SUV segment for years, and has bumped the sales numbers for Hyundai by a good margin compared to any other competitor product. The new Creta will offer more space, better engines with BSVI compliance, more mileage and more features.
The new design of the Hyundai Creta is a huge leap forward or may be just different compared to the current model. Hence, differentiation is not going to be a problem at all. Most definitely, with all the changes, the pricing on the top trims is expected to see a bump. So may be the Hyundai Creta on-road will touch the INR 20 lakh mark easily.
The next-gen Hyundai Creta will first go on sale in China later this year.
