New Force Gurkha teased, will sales improve this time?

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Force is gearing up to launch the new 5-door Gurkha SUV in the Indian market. The brand has now teased the new 5-door Gurkha SUV through its social media channels. Atleast in the teasers, the new Force Gurkha 5-door appears to be road ready or shall we say off-road ready.

Force Gurkha 5-Door – What to Expect?

The teaser offers some details of the 5-door Gurkha which is likely to be as much as capable as its 3-door sibling. While the Gurkha is likely to be armed to its teeth in the off-road specifications the new 5-door SUV will come with a longer wheelbase which might reduce its breakover/rampover angle.

According to spy shots which emerged on the internet a while back, revealed that the SUV is likely to be larger than the 3-door model. However, the 5-door model is likely to come with features similar to the current Gurkha. The SUV is likely to be over 400mm longer than the 3-Door version. Also, the 5-Door Gurkha is likely to come with new design alloy wheels but the same 16-inch size. There could be some changes to its bumper and front grill to differentiate the 5-Door SUV from the 3-Door sibling.

On the inside, the 5-door model is likely to be come with multiple seating configurations. The SUV could get a 5-seat configuration with a large space dedicated to boot space. Also, the 5-Door version could come with a 6-seater and 7-seater iterations. The premium spec trim is also likely to come with captain seats in the 6-seater version. In addition to this, the 5-door model is also likely to come with differentiating features on the inside. Speculation is that the brand is likely to equip the 4×4 model of the 5-door version with electronically locking differential as well. However, the 5-Door model is likely to carry over the same 2.6-litre diesel engine from the 3-Door version.

Force Gurkha 5-Door – Price

Considering the change in length and the added equipment the the SUV is likely to come with, Force Motors is likely to demand around INR 1 lakh – 1.5 lakh higher than the 3-Door Gurkha.
