New Force Gurkha pick-up spotted, but who will buy this?

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Force Motors recently teased the 5-door Gurkha SUV for the Indian market. The SUV already has a 3-door iteration and is likely to target the family SUV buyer. It now appears that the brand is also likely to target the utilitarian buyer by offering a lifestyle pick-up Gurkha SUV.

Yes, spy shots of the Gurkha Pick-Up have emerged over the internet leading us to believe that a third Gurkha iteration is in pipeline. However, the Gurkha Pick-Up is likely to make its debut after the 5-door Gurkha’s arrival in the Indian market. Upon launch, the Gurkha Pick-Up is likely to directly compete with the Isuzu D-MAX Cross, in India.

Force Gurkha Pick-Up – Spied

Spyshots reveal that the Gurkha Pick-Up is likely to come with the front fascia similar to the 3-door Gurkha. The SUV gets a trapezoidal grille and wheel arches that reiterates with its boxy and muscular design. The Pick-Up also gets double cab which means 4-doors and a large cargo bed.

The Gurkha pick-up is likely to use the same 2.6-litre diesel engine from the Gurkha 3-door. The powertrain produces 95 Hp of power and 250 Nm of torque. The pick-up is also likely to come with the same 5-speed transmission as well as a 4×4 drivetrain with manual differential lockers.

Force Gurkha Pick-Up – For the Masses or the Military?

Spy shots also reveal a snorkel and an external roll bar. Furthermore, the cargo bed also gets a soft sort of canvas material hood and there are side steps for easy ingress and egress. While the snorkel is being offered on other Gurkha models as well. But the addition of a roll cage and hoop along with the soft top leads us to believe that this could be a special purpose vehicle or even military. However, the shiny 5-spoke alloy wheels tell us otherwise. Will you buy the Force Gurkha Pick-Up?
