As per a latest report published online, TVS is eyeing the mid-size premium motorcycle segment. In fact, the brand always had its target on debuting competitive products to rival the segment leader, Royal Enfield. However, the time was never right until now.
The report claims that TVS has internally decided to use the Norton brand for stepping into the competitive 300- 500cc segment. Norton, a renowned motorcycling brand, was acquired by TVS in 2020. Later, TVS invested a huge chunk into Norton to revive the iconic brand.
As per the report, TVS will be using its new 300cc single-cylinder powertrain to develop these new entry-level motorcycles. There could be two or more models that will be introduced in India, as well as globally.
The 300cc engine of TVS is highly capable and it can be expanded up to 500cc easily with the right modifications. Interestingly, this is the exact cubic capacity where Royal Enfield has held the lead for years.
Now, not much is known about these bikes, but, these entry-level models will be carved out of high-quality construction and punchy performance to easily compete with the rivals. Moreover, with these new models, Norton will be able to revamp its rather old lineup.
As of now, the internal launch timeline is rumoured to be 2028 for India. We expect that more details will surface in the coming months as the brand heads towards the development of the new bikes.

Norton holds a high brand value in the international market, but Indian customers are much less aware of it. So, before TVS makes these new bikes, it will be required to construct a strong brand image for Norton, so that it can pull buyers easily.
