New Ducati DesertX adventure motorcycle teased

Ducati has unveiled the new DesertX adventure concept, which looks absolutely stunning. The motorcycle draws its design inspiration from the Dakar motorcycles of the 80s and 90s. Ducati also revealed that the Ducati DesertX concept would be based on the Ducati Scrambler 1100. The brand will likely reveal the motorcycle during the Ducati World Premiere 2022, which commences from 30th September 2021. The multi-episode web series from Ducati will go live on the official website and social media channels. The web series is likely to end with the unveiling of the Ducati DesertX model, which the brand is likely to put into production and compete with rivals such as the BMW Motorrad GS series, Honda Africa Twin and the Triumph Tigers.

Ducati DesertX – Design Highlights

The Ducati DesertX will come with a retro-technological and functional style theme based on Paris-Dakar enduro motorcycles. The design concept features twin rounded headlamps with LED DRL light signatures. The headlamps integrate a tall windscreen that will help protect the rider from wind and weather. The Ducati DesertX also comes with a large and chiselled fuel tank along with a single seat. The pillion seat features a luggage carrying area with a small fender and a retro-style LED taillamp. The rear cowling also integrates a secondary fuel tank to extend the range of the motorcycle. The motorcycle will come with upright handlebars and a full-colour dashboard.

Ducati DesertX – Mechanical Features

The DesertX will come with an upside-down long-travel suspension on the front and a horizontal back-link type rear suspension. The bike also comes with an asymmetrical swingarm and spoke wire rims with a 21-inch front rim, and both wheels shod in knobby off-road tyres. The motorcycle comes with high ground clearance and a chunky bash plate. Stopping power comes from twin-disc brakes on the front and a single disc on the rear equipped with Brembo stoppers.
