BMW launches 3-Series 330i Sport in India for INR 41.70 lakh

BMW has launched a new 3 Series variant at a starting price of INR 41.70 lakh ex-showroom, India. The new BMW 330i Sport with a petrol engine has replaced the earlier entry-level model the 330d Sport with a diesel engine which has now been removed from the brand’s line-up. The 2019 BMW 330d Sport retailed at INR 41.40 lakh ex-showroom. For 2020 the brand’s 3 Series line-up includes the 330i Sport (Petrol), 330d Luxury Line (Diesel) and the 330i M Sport (petrol).

The BMW 3 Series was updated to its seventh-generation last year in India and in the styling department, the BMW 3 Series features a signature chrome-accented kidney grille with vertical slats finished in black and active air stream technology to improve the cars aerodynamic efficiency. The front fascia comes with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED foglights in a bar type design integrated into the outer air vents that flank the angular front bumper on the M Sport and a more subtle design bumper in the standard model. The front bumper also gets multiple cuts and crease lines along with a large air dam with a black mesh grille. The bonnet has a slightly raised profile with muscular character lines. On the sides, the 3 Series comes with turn indicator equipped heated ORVMs, 17-inch alloys as standard and 18-inch alloys on the M Light alloys on the M Sport and LED combination tail lamps. 

On the interior, the BMW 3 Series comes with ‘Hey BMW’ activated BMW intelligent personal assistant, 12.3-inch BMW Live Cockpit fully digital instruments display on the 330d Luxury Line and the 330i M Sport, Analogue instruments with 5.7-inch multi-information display on the entry-level 330i Sport, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected technology. The car also gets three-zone automatic climate control, control mounted leather-wrapped steering with paddles shifters, electrically operated sunroof, electrically adjustable driver and passenger seats with memory function and sports seats for the driver and passenger on the M Sport trim. 

In the engine department, the BMW 3 Series comes with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine that produces 258 hp of power and 400 Nm of torque mated to an 8-speed  Steptronic Sport Automatic Transmission which sends the power to the rear wheels. The diesel trim features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo diesel engine that produces 190 hp of power and 400 Nm of torque coupled to an 8-Speed Steptronic Sport Automatic Transmission sending the power to the rear wheels. 

In the Indian market, the BMW 3 Series competes with the likes of the Jaguar XE, Mercedes-Benz C-class, and Audi A4.
