German luxury car manufacturer BMW is lining up to launch their 7-th generation BMW 3 series in India. The 2019 BMW 3 series was recently spied in India ahead of its launch. For the Indian market, BMW is expected to launch the petrol 330i and the diesel 320d variants only. Internationally, the BMW 3 series range includes:-
On the exterior the 2019 BMW 3-series is expected to feature BMW Laser Light headlamps, LED fog lamps, signature BMW kidney grille with high-gloss chrome accents, L-shaped LED tail lamps, chrome twin pipe exhaust finishers and 18/19-inch multi-spoke light alloy wheels. The new 2019 BMW 3-series is 76mm longer, 16mm wider and 1mm taller than its predecessor and measures 4,709mm in length, 1,827mm in width and, 1,441mm in height. The 2019 model has a 41mm longer wheelbase which now measures 2,851mm resulting in spacious and comfortable seating space.
The interiors on the new BMW 3-series is a minimal design with clean lines with brushed aluminium accents. The BMW 3-series gets a BMW Live Cockpit Professional 12.3-inch instrument console and a 10.25-inch high-resolution Control Display standard on the M-sport models and a 8.8 inch Central Information Display on the standard model. The new BMW 3 series with Live Cockpit Professional gets an intelligent personal assistant which comes live when you say ‘Hey BMW’. The 2019 BMW 3-series also offers a Heads Up Display.
The engine powering the 2019 BMW 3-series in the 330i is a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 258 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. And the 320d diesel variant gets a 2.0-litre diesel producing 199 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 2019 BMW 3-series will be manufactured in Munich Germany and brought to India via the CKD route. It will be assembled at the BMW India plant in Chennai. It is expected to launch in June 2019 with a price tag of around INR 40 lakh ex-Showroom. The 2019 BMW 3-Series will compete with the likes of Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Jaguar XE and new Audi A4.
