New base variants coming for Toyota Innova Hycross

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Planning to get the all-new Toyota Innova Hycross? This news article will certainly grab your interest. We know that Toyota recently reopened bookings for the Innova Crysta. And now as per sources, the company is also offering the new Innova Hycross to fleet buyers. Interestingly enough, the Toyota Innova Hycross will now get a new base variant for the hybrid and petrol powertrains.

Fleet Operators Can Now Buy The Innova Hycross

Innova Crysta is available in just a single engine option which is a 2.4-litre diesel engine. On the contrary, the Innova Hycross gets both hybrid and petrol powertrains. All of these are now available to fleet and private buyers. This move increases the target audience for Toyota, thus boosting sales significantly.

The Innova Hycross hybrid for the fleet operators will come in three trims. These are, base, VX and ZX. Customers can choose from an option of 7- and 8-seat configurations. Additionally, for the petrol version fleet buyers can have their Hycross in both seating configurations.

This move will most likely give Toyota an edge over Maruti Suzuki. We understand Maruti Suzuki is looking to launch their own version of the Innova Hycross sometime in the second half of 2023. As of now, Maruti Suzuki doesn’t sell any MPV in the segment available for fleet and private buyers. So we will wait and watch if the upcoming C-MPV will be available for both fleet operators as well as private buyers.

As has always been the case under Toyota-Suzuki global alliance. The Maruti C-MPV will share its mechanicals with its Toyota counterpart. But, we will get to some changes in terms of looks so as to differentiate themselves from each other.

New Base Variant For Toyota Innova Hycross

The Toyota Innova Hycross currently retails with five trims, namely, G, GX, VX, ZX and ZX (O). The first two are available with a 2.0-litre petrol engine. Meanwhile, the rest use the stronger 2.0-litre hybrid engine. As mentioned, we understand, Toyota is looking to add a base model for both engines. And the good part is that it will have both 7- and 8-seater configurations.
