Royal Enfield is set to expand its lineup with the introduction of a new 440cc Scrambler motorcycle in 2025. The announcement has generated significant excitement among motorcycle enthusiasts, as it promises to revive the Scram brand with a new engine.
Engine and Performance
The new Royal Enfield Scrambler will be powered by a new LS443 single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, designed to offer a perfect balance of power and torque for both urban commuting and off-road adventures. The engine is expected to produce around 30 horsepower (hp) and 35 Nm of torque, coupled with a 5-speed gearbox for smooth and responsive performance.
Design and Features
Staying true to the scrambler ethos, the new 440cc model will feature a rugged and retro design with high-mounted exhaust pipes, a raised front fender, and knobby tires. The bike will come equipped with dual-purpose tires mounted on wire-spoke wheels, ensuring better traction on varied terrains.
The motorcycle will also boast a minimalistic and rugged appearance with a sculpted fuel tank, a single-piece seat, and a bash plate to protect the engine during off-road excursions. To enhance the riding experience, the bike will include modern features such as LED lighting, a fully digital instrument cluster, and USB charging ports.
Suspension and Brakes
The Royal Enfield Scrambler will be fitted with long-travel suspension components, featuring USD forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear to handle rough terrain effortlessly. Braking duties will be managed by disc brakes on both ends, complemented by dual-channel ABS for improved safety and control.
Market Positioning and Pricing
The 440cc Scrambler is expected to be priced competitively, making it an attractive option for riders seeking an affordable yet capable scrambler. It will likely sit between the Himalayan and the Interceptor 650 in Royal Enfield’s lineup, catering to a diverse range of riding preferences.
