New 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost sedan arrives in India

The new-generation Rolls-Royce Ghost has already been launched in the international market. Now sources indicate that the 2nd-generation Rolls-Royce Ghost has also made its entry in the Indian market. The price tag is expected to start from INR 6.95 crores (ex-showroom) with deliveries in India likely to start from next year.

The significant changes as compared to the previous generation are; a 50:50 weight distribution which is achieved by placing the engine behind the front axle, a bigger boot of 507 litres, the length of the car is increased by 89mm and now measures 5,546 mm, the width is 1,978 mm which is 30 mm more than the previous generation and the height is increased by 21 mm though the wheelbase remains the same at 3,295 mm.

The new Ghost is underpinned by Phantom’s aluminium spaceframe architecture on which both the Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII and Rolls-Royce Cullinan are also based. The updated Ghost has a lot of new changes in the exterior like new square-shaped tail lamps, C shaped LED DRLs, a revamped bumper, laser headlights having an illumination range of 600mm and more.

Rolls-Royce has given a nice touch to the interiors by providing the 153 LED light set up with the Ghost wordmark and over 850 stars on the passenger side of the dashboard. The 1,300-watt music system with Starlight headliner, a purification system, 360-degree camera, a head-up display, adaptive cruise control with nighttime pedestrian and wildlife crossing alerts add up to give one of the best interior experience in its segment. The 360-degree camera along with the GPS data can map the traffic ahead and pre-select the gears. Customers will also have a lot of options for customization as per their preferences.

Under the hood of the all-new Rolls Royce Ghost lies a 6.75-litre, twin-turbo V12 motor which makes 571 HP of power at 5,000 RPM and 850 Nm of torque at 6,000 RPM. The previous generation had a rear-wheel-drive system which is now replaced by a four-wheel-drive setup, Now, the Ghost can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds despite weighing 2.5 tonnes and has a top speed of 250 kmph.
