Skoda has announced that the brand will soon be launching an all-new compact SUV in the Indian market. The company also initiated the Name Your Skoda campaign to further engage customers. Since the launch of the campaign Skoda has received more than 1,30,000 suggestions. The brand further announced that it has shortlisted 15 most popular names from the suggestions.
The next leg of the campaign starts from 28th March 2024 (today) and runs till 12th April 2024. Skoda will be running a polling phase to select one name out of the 15 shortlisted names. The winner of the naming contest will get a chance to own the all-new Skoda compact-SUV. Another 10 winners will also get the opportunity of visiting the Czech Republic.
Skoda has a naming tradition, according to which the name of their SUVs start with a ‘K’ and ends with a ‘Q’. This tradition started with the Kodiaq in 2017 which the company’s first ever full-fledged 7-seater luxury 4×4. Later the tradition was carried forward by the Kushaq SUV which made its world debut in India. The all-new Compact-SUV also follows on with the Skoda’s SUV nomenclature tradition when it makes its world debut in India in March 2025.
Through ‘Name Your Škoda’, participants have suggested names for the compact SUV that begins with the letter ‘K’ and ends with the letter ‘Q’ with one or two syllables. The campaign resulted in over 1,30,000 names with close to 20,000 unique names.
Skoda has announced that the participants that wish to share their favourite names can do the same on the Skoda’s campaign microsite. Using the #NameYourSkoda on Instagram, X and Facebook participants can also share their favourite names.
In the next phase, the brand revealed that 10 winners from the Name Your Skoda contest will get to visit Skoda Auto in Mlada Boleslav as well as the Skoda Museum. In addition to this, the 10 winners also get a tour of Prague which claims to be the one of the most attractive cities in Europe. Also, the winner of the contest will get to own the all-new Skoda compact-SUV which will make its debut in the first half of 2025.
