Naked Suzuki Gixxer 250 images leaked

Suzuki re-entered the quarter-litre market recently with the fully-faired Gixxer SF 250 and as reported earlier, the brand is likely to launch the naked iteration of the motorcycle in the coming months. Suzuki has not revealed the launch date yet, but a couple of leaked pictures reveal the design and leads us to believe that, the motorcycle will be launched soon.

The naked motorcycle is expected to be based on the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and is likely to be christened ‘Gixxer 250’. Some of the design features match the Gixxer 150 with a muscular fuel tank design with beefy and angular tank shrouds which complete the streetfighter appearance. The headlight is low slung and is expected to be a full LED unit. Similarly, the the tail lights and turn signal indicators are expected to be LEDs. The motorcycle also appears to have a belly pan which will offer some amount of protection to the engine underbelly.

The bike will get a fully digital instrument console, a step up seat with pillion grab rail, 12-litre fuel tank, 17-inch ‘Y’ shaped alloy wheels shod in 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tubeless tyres and optional accessories like a 12V DC socket for mobile phone charging, seat cover, tank pad and wheel rim stickers.

The engine on the naked motorcycle is expected to be shared from the fully faired Gixxer SF 250 which gets an advanced oil-cooling system known as Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS) with an engine displacement of 249cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve SOHC engine that produces 26.5 PS of power @ 9000 RPM and 22.6 Nm of torque @ 7500 RPM coupled to a 6-speed transmission.

Other mechanical hardware is expected to remain the same such as the chassis, oil dampened with coil spring telescopic front suspension, swing arm type mono suspension on the rear, and disc brakes on both the front and rear equipped with anti-lock brakes (ABS)

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 is expected to launch with a price of INR 1.50 lakh ex-showroom around the festive season. When launched, the Gixxer 250 will compete with other naked street fighters such as the KTM 250 Duke and Yamaha FZ-25.
