MY25 Honda Dio OBD2B-compliant launched in India at INR 74,930

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the MY25 version of the Dio scooter at a starting price of INR 74,930 (ex-showroom). The new model is OBD2B-compliant, meeting the latest emission norms. The MY25 Dio is available in two variants: STD and DLX, with the DLX variant priced at INR 85,648 (ex-showroom).

MY25 Honda Dio: What’s New?

The MY25 Dio retains its iconic silhouette but comes with several upgrades. It features a 109.51 cc, single-cylinder PGM-Fi engine that develops 7.95 PS of power and 9.03 Nm of torque. The engine is equipped with an idling stop system to enhance fuel efficiency. The scooter offers a new 4.2-inch TFT display with mileage indicators, trip meter, Eco indicator, and range (distance to empty).

The MY25 Dio also includes a USB Type-C charging port for added convenience. The top-spec DLX variant features alloy wheels, while the STD variant comes with standard wheels. The scooter is available in five vibrant color options: Imperial Red Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Igneous Black + Pearl Deep Ground Gray, Mat Marvel Blue, and Mat Axis Gray Metallic.

HMSI aims to redefine the scooter experience with the MY25 Dio by integrating modern technology, enhanced performance, and eco-friendly compliance. The company expects the new Dio to continue leading as the preferred scooter of choice for India’s vibrant youth. However, to do so, it will need to compete with the likes of the TVS Jupiter 110, the Hero Xoom 110, and its own sibling the Honda Activa. Not to mention, the ICE scooters are now facing stiff competition from EVs like the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, the Ather 450 series and the Ola S1 series.

Our Thoughts

The launch of the MY25 Honda Dio brings advanced features and eco-friendly compliance to the popular scooter. With its upgraded engine and new display, it aims to enhance the riding experience for urban commuters.
