Triumph India is celebrating its 10 years of motorcycle in the Indian market at the India Bike Week 2023. The brand at the event introduced its lineup of motorcycles which includes the new MY24 Triumph Tiger 900 as well as other Stealth edition motorcycles.
The latest Triumph Adventure motorcycle the 2024 Tiger 900 is not just a step-up in performance but also comes with new features for the middle-weight adventure segment. Triumph has announced that the new Tiger 900 will arrive in showroom by March 2024. However, patrons can already book the motorcycle through authorised Triumph dealers.
The new 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 will be available in two options – GT and Rally Pro. While the engine and design remains the same, the GT and Rally Pro differ from each other in terms of suspension, comfort features as well as performance features. The Rally Pro comes with features such as Triumph Shift Assist, Heated Grips and Seats and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System over the standard features on the Tiger 900 GT. The Rally Pro also gets configurable riding modes as well as an additional Off-Road Pro riding mode.
The 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 comes with all-new active safety features. These include new marker lights, improved rider accessibility along with reduced seat height. The bike also gets optimised cornering ABS and traction control with IMU and new enhanced braking system that automatically balances front and rear braking effort.
The new Tiger 900 also comes with a new emergency deceleration warning system. The safety system activates hazard lights under heavy braking and automatically deactivates when you accelerate away. The motorcycle also gets damped handlebar mounting system for more comfort and a new 7-inch non-reflective TFT instruments panel.
In addition to this, the bike also comes with a 20-litre fuel tank and a lightweight frame with a bolt on subframe. The Tiger 900 also gets All-LED Lighting, Illuminated switches and an adjustable screen. The seat is also adjustable with 20mm height adjustment. The brand also offers 50+ accessories for the 2024 Triumph Tiger 900.
The 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 GT comes with a more road friendly 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with Metzeler Tourance Next tyres. While, the Rally Pro comes with off-road-spec 21-inch front and 17-inch rear cross-spoke tubeless wheels shod in Bridgestone Battlax Adventure tyres. The Tiger 900 GT comes with 100/90-19 front and 150/70-R17 rear tyres. The Rally Pro model comes with 90/90-21 front and 150/70-R17 rear tyres.
In terms of suspension, the GT comes with 45mm upside down Marzocchi suspension. It gets manual rebound and compression damping adjustment. The Marzocchi unit offers 180mm of travel. The Rally Pro, on the other hand, features a 45mm Showa upside down suspension. The unit features manual preload, rebound and compression damping adjustment. The Showa suspension on the Rally Pro offers 240mm of wheel travel.
The GT also comes with a Marzocchi rear suspension unit with manual preload and rebound damping adjustment with 170mm of wheel travel. While the Rally Pro gets a Showa rear suspension units with manually adjustable preload and rebound damping and 230mm of wheel travel. Other chassis components such as the twin sided cast aluminium swingarm remain common on both the variants.
Powering the 2024 Tiger 900 is a 888cc in-line triple engine with T-plane crank and liquid-cooling. The engine produces 108 PS of power and 90 Nm of torque coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. Triumph claims that the new 2024 Tiger 900 13% more power, a higher peak torque and 9% better fuel economy.
