MG Motor India is gearing up to launch the facelifted version of its flagship SUV, the MG Gloster, in the Indian market. The updated model has been spotted testing on the roads, revealing some changes that it will receive.

MY24 MG Gloster – What to Expect?

The MG Gloster facelift will sport a revised front fascia, with a new grille, sleeker LED headlamps and DRLs, and a redesigned bumper. The side profile will remain fairly unchanged. The SUV might, however, get a new set of alloy wheels. The rear end will also get a makeover, with tweaked LED taillights, a new bumper, and repositioned reflectors.

Interior

The interior of the MG Gloster facelift will feature a new dashboard, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and a revised center console. The SUV will continue to offer a host of features, such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, wireless charger, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, and ADAS suite.

Powertrain

The MG Gloster facelift will retain the same engine options as the current model, which includes a 2.0-litre turbo diesel and a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-litre turbo diesel produces 161 PS of power and 373.5 Nm torque and is available only in a 2-wheel drive configuration. The  2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel makes 215 PS of power and 478.5 Nm of torque and comes with a four-wheel-drive system. This configuration also gets multiple drives modes (Eco, Sport) and multiple terrain modes like Snow, Sand, Rock, and Mud.

The MG Gloster facelift is expected to be launched in the first half of 2024, with a slight increase in price over the existing model, which ranges from ₹38.80 lakh to ₹43.66 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will compete with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq in the premium SUV segment.
