Mercedes-Benz has officially showcased the all-new interiors of its 2024 E-Class sedan. We expect the sedan to make its debut in the market sometime later this year.
The key highlighting aspect of the interiors of the cabin of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is its MBUX Superscreen. This gets a sizable infotainment display, both on the centre console and in front of the passenger. The driver also gets to experience a free-standing fully-digital instrument cluster. For this, customers have the option to choose. They can go with the Classic theme with a dial-like speedometer and tachometer. Or they can opt for the Sports theme which has the tachometer at the centre and red accents all around.
The most interesting highlight is the two infotainment screens on the dashboard. Both of these units can now install third-party apps directly instead of being mirrored via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. There is news that Mercedes will also launch its very own ‘App Store’. Not only this, but the sedan will also come with a dashboard-mounted selfie photo and video camera. Some of the apps will get access to use these. Meanwhile, the owners can take photos and videos even when the car is parked.
Mercedes-Benz has claimed that the E-Class will come equipped with the ZYNC Entertainment Portal. This will provide on-demand content, interactive experiences, local video programs, sports, news and more, as confirmed by Mercedes-Benz. The carmaker also mentioned that around 30 streaming services from various global partners are already available. In fact, there are plans to bring in more in the future.
For the safety of the occupants, the E-Class will get a “visual shield”. This will prevent the driver from consuming the content. Mercedes will achieve this via another camera which monitors the driver’s eye movements. But, the owner has the option to either have the shield switched on or off. In addition to all of this, the new E-Class also packs a slew of other tech and features. Some of the notable mentions include a 17-speaker 4D Burmester sound system, active lights, Nappa leather seats and 5G connectivity.
