Ducati launched the off-road focused DesertX back in 2022. Now, the Italian bike maker has announced a new feature of the MY24 DesertX. The bike will now gain a turn-by-turn navigation feature. Ducati has also offered the same on the MY24 Diavel V4.
DesertX, while off-road focused, is used by many as a touring motorcycle. This means, they go long distances on these bikes, many times at new locations. For such riders, having a turn-by-turn navigation is a boon. The 2023 model year DesertX units will be the first bikes in Ducati stable to get this turn-by-turn navigation.
However, this is not a standard feature, and owners will have to purchase it additionally. It will make use of the bike’s built-in TFT display to show directions which will be sent from the Ducati Link app on the paired rider’s phone.
Existing owners of the DesertX will be able to add this feature to their bikes as well.
Ducati is also offering a new “RR22” livery on the DesertX. The same livery was applied on Danilo Petrucci’s DesertX demo bike. This was showcased last year at Sardegna along with Audi’s RS Q e-tron Dakar racer
The overall styling is similar to the concept motorcycle that was showcased in 2019. Thus we get to see a twin-pod headlight, a tall windscreen, a semi-fairing design, and a 21-litre fuel tank. Other key design elements include split-style seats, side-slung exhaust, bash plate, and tubeless-tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels. This Ducati gets some off-road-focussed hardware equipment. The motorcycle comes with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel combination that wears the Pirelli-sourced Scorpion Rally STR tyres.
DesertX gets a 937cc, L-Twin, liquid-cooled engine that it shares with the new Monster and Multistrada V2. Ducati is offering a six-speed gearbox with this motor. The performance figure of this motor reads as 110 BHP and 92 Nm.
