MY23 Volkswagen Tiguan launched in India at INR 34.69 lakh

Volkswagen has launched the updated MY23 Tiguan SUV in the Indian market at prices starting from INR 34.69 lakh. This new update has ensured that the Tiguan is now RDE norms compliant. Tiguan is the flagship product for brand VW in India and comes with level 1 ADAS tech as well.

MY23 Volkswagen Tiguan – What’s New?

The updated for 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan comes in a shade of blue, white, black, grey & silver. On the inside, the brand is offering dual tone storm grey colour scheme and have also introduced wireless charging for convenience. For customer convenience, the Tiguan also comes with Park Assist, to help drivers in tight & tricky parking situations. In terms of safety, the Tiguan gets rear seat belt reminder and other features such as 6-airbags, ABS, ESC, ASR, EDL, hill start & descent assist, engine drag torque control, TPMS, 3 adjustable head rest at the back with 3 point seat belts, ISOFIX and other driver alert functions.

Other features include dark LED tail lamps, LED matrix headlights, bumpers with piano black finish, wide radiator grille and new light signatures which can alert the traffic more effectively. On the inside, you get features such as panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, 25.40cm digital cockpit, 20.32cm touchscreen infotainment with gesture control, reverse camera with 4 views, climate control, 615 litres of boot space, etc.

Volkswagen Tiguan Engine

Typical of the VW group, the Tiguan is only available in a petrol engine option, no diesel. Under the hood you get a 2.0L, TSI, 4-cylinder motor matched to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox along with 4MOTION all-wheel-drive. This engine produces 190 PS of power @ 4200 – 6000 RPM and 320 Nm of torque @ 1500 – 4100 RPM. Volkswagen claims a fuel efficiency number of 13.54 kmpl which is a 7% improvement compared to the older model.

The Volkswagen Tiguan is based on the global MQB platform and is sold in India in Elegance variant. Volkswagen Tiguan rivals the likes of Hyundai Tucson in India.
