Tata Motors has yet again updated the prices of the Nexon compact SUV. With this, both the petrol and diesel versions are now costlier by up to INR 15,000. This is the fourth price hike for the Tata Nexon SUV. The other hike happened in January, July and November last year.
Along with the price hike, Tata Motors has also made some changes to the variant list. Thus, Nexon’s XZ+ (HS) trim has been replaced by the XZ+ (S) trim. Meanwhile, the XZ+ (L) and (P) trims, which include the Dark and Kaziranga editions, are no longer available. Now customers planning to get a Nexon have chosen from the XZ+ LUX and LUXS trims. Tata Motors has also discontinued the Jet Edition from the Nexon’s variant line-up. This is confirmed news because that edition is no longer available on the official website.
The Nexon is available with two engine options namely, a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that develops 120 hp and 170 Nm of torque. Second is a 1.5-litre diesel engine that puts out 110hp and 260 Nm of torque. Both the engines get either a 6-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. As a part of the price hike, most of the variants of petrol are now dearer by almost INR 10,000.
Meanwhile, for the diesel powertrain options, the prices are now up by INR 15,000 on average. With this, the petrol-powered Nexon now starts at INR 7.80 lakh and goes all the way up to INR 12.95 lakh. Meanwhile, for the diesel, the starting price is from INR 10 lakh and goes all the way up to INR 14.30. All prices mentioned are in the ex-showroom.
With the increase in demand for SUVs, Tata Nexon is selling in good numbers. It takes on the likes of Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and likes.
