MY23 Tata Nexon facelift will get purple seats

As we understand Tata Motors is getting ready for yet another launch. This is the facelifted Nexon. Ahead of that, we have some spy shots of the sub-4-metre SUV. In the latest spy shots, we can take an estimate as to how the exterior might look. We assume facelifted Nexon might take inspiration from the upcoming Curvv compact SUV. Thus we expect Nexon to carry a futuristic look. Of which, wide LED light bars at the front converging to form the Tata logo, is in the talks.

Tata Motors Teaser Fianlly Out

In fact, Tata Motors has also released a new teaser on its social media channels. Then there is also a two-part upper grille and lower grille. This gives us a cascading effect which might be studded with Tata’s tri-arrow elements. Till now we have no mention or hint of Tata’s radar-based ADAS module with Nexon facelift test mules. With this update, we also expect to see a new alloy wheel design and some changes to its body cladding to make it sportier. Coming to the rear, We might see Safari-inspired wide LED signature tail lights. These will most likely come with pulsating sequential turn indicators. Nexon EV will too carry forwards these changes.

What Are The Changes On The Inside?

On the inside, we might get to see Purple seats and a two-spoke steering wheel. We say this because, in the spy shots, the 2023 Nexon facelift seats are already seen wearing purple colour. We also see the dashboard and centre console finished in black. Another notable update is that the Tata Nexon facelift might get a rear wiper as we have seen in Land Rover and the new Tucson. The SUV also now gets a larger 10.25” infotainment screen. This will get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as per the recent trend. Other than that, Nexon will benefit from a 7” instrument cluster, sunroof, built-in air purifier, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, and likes.

Engine And Gearbox Options

As for the engine specs of the New Nexon, the options remain the same. Thus we get the 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines. But with the Tata Nexon facelift, we expect the petrol to make 125 BHP of power and 225 Nm of torque. Interestingly enough we expect the 1.5 diesel to continue. This motor makes 113 BHP of power and 260 Nm of torque. But, there is a new DCT gearbox which could now become a part of Nexon facelift, replacing the AMT. But we are not yet sure if it is the same 6-speed unit with the Altroz or a newer 7-speed unit. We are expecting the launch to take place by mid-2023 before the festive season kicks in.
