Skoda India has finally updated the 7-seater Kodiaq SUV. This comes in as a part of compliance with the new BS6 Phase 2 norms. The prices now start at INR 37.99 lakh. In addition to this, the company has also increased Kodiaq’s allocation for India by over 50 per cent. Skoda will continue to import the Kodiaq for the Indian market via the CKD route.
The Skoda Kodiaq continues to use the 2-litre, turbo-petrol engine from the previous model. But Skoda has made some slight changes. The carmaker said that they have made the changes so as to meet the new emissions norms. The changes have resulted in 4.2 per cent more efficient than its predecessor.
But the performance figures remain the same at 190 HP and 320 Nm of torque. Talking of performance, Skoda claims that the SUV can do 0 to 100 kmph in 7.8 seconds. This figure is exactly the same as the model it replaces.
The Skoda Kodiaq continues with the 7-speed dual-clutch (DSG) with a 4×4 system with Dynamic Chassis control. Again, no changes here, this is the same as the previous model. As expected, the Skoda Kodiaq comes loaded with safety features. The highlighting ones include, nine airbags as standard, stability control, multi-collision braking, brake assist, and park assist with hands-free parking too.
The updates for the 2023 Kodiaq aren’t just limited to the engine, there’s more. Skoda has worked on the rear spoiler. It now gets vents that allow for better aerodynamic performance. The three-row SUV also benefits from automatic door edge protectors that only come out when the door is open. This provides a safety net for the doors which protects the car from scratches and dents. The company has also added new headrests and even a lounge step for the middle row.
The Skoda Kodiaq now retails with a price tag of INR 37.99 lakh for the base variant. The Style, which is INR 50,000 costlier than the outgoing model. The driver-focused Sportline variant gets a price tag of INR 39.39 lakh, which is INR 90,000 more expensive than the previous-generation variant.
