Yamaha has launched the 2023 Monster Energy Moto GP Edition range of two-wheelers in India. The move comes just ahead of the upcoming Bharat GP race scheduled to take place at the Buddh International Circuit.
This special livery will be offered across the YZF-R15M, MT-15 V2.0 and the Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid models. The graphics and design are inspired by the company’s Moto GP team colours. All the aforementioned get a blue and black theme along with Monster Energy logos on fairing and tank shrouds.
Mechanically, there are no changes to these two wheelers.
Both these bikes are powered by the same engine. The 155cc single-cylinder motor develops 18.1 BHP and 14.2 Nm of peak torque.
Meanwhile, the Ray ZR comes with a 125cc single-cylinder engine. This air-cooled motor develops 8 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm @ 5,000 rpm. Yamaha offers a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) on the scooter. This functions as an electric motor to provide a power boost under acceleration.
For 2023, MotoGP will have even more races and countries than before. There will be a total of 21 races in 2023. The Portuguese GP took place as the Season Opener from 24th to 26th March. The Indian GP is the 14th Race of the season. That said, the Indian GP is not the only new track for 2023. The Kazakhstan GP will also make its debut in 2023. The 2023 season of MotoGP is set to have the highest number of races and participating countries ever. Thus, it will be a season that MotoGP fans can’t afford to miss.
Initially, the Indian GP, or “Grand Prix of Bharat”, received a provisional approval. This was since the track was initially planned for Formula 1, it likely needed homologation and regulatory approvals for the MotoGP event.
