Kawasaki has re-introduced the Z900RS for the Indian market. The motorcycle retails at INR 16.47 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The 2023 Z900RS will continue to come to India via the CBU route. Thus this attracts massive duties and hence we see this massive price tag.
2023 Kawasaki Z900RS Key Details
The Z900RS carries forward the liquid-cooled, 948cc, inline-four engine. This is the same engine that does the duty in the sporty middleweight Z900 naked bike. But on the RS, Kawasaki returned for more mid-range grunt. This engine makes 111 HP at 8,500rpm and 98.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.
We know that the Z900RS uses the same main frame as the Z900. But Kawasaki has reworked the subframe. This is to ensure that it can accommodate the classic stepped single-piece seat. The fuel-carrying capacity of the motorcycle remains the same as the Z900 at 17 litres. In fact, the braking setup is also the same. Thus, it uses twin 300mm front discs and 250mm single rear discs. Dual-channel ABS is a standard fitment.
Features On Offer With The Kawasaki Z900 RS
The Z900RS features twin analogue dials with a small digital inset. On the contrary, the Z900 got a full-colour TFT dash. Other key features include all-LED lighting, a slipper clutch and traction control. Customers can have the Kawasaki Z900RS in two colours. These are, namely, Metallic Diablo Black/Metallic Imperial Red and Candy Tone Blue.
Other Options In The Segment
With a price tag of INR 16.47 lakh, the Z900RS is a pricey proposition. And thus, we expect the motorcycle to sell in very limited numbers. Its closest rival in the segment is the INR 11.09 lakh (ex-showroom, India) Triumph Speed Twin 1200.
Customers can also look at the Kawasaki Z650RS. This is available at a much more affordable price tag of INR 6.92 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
