Hyundai is all set to launch the i20 facelift in India. After numerous sightings on the road, the Korean carmaker has officially released a teaser for the popular hatchback.
For starters, the i20 will come with a revised front fascia. This will include changes to the grille, updated LED DRLs and a new bumper. Towards the rear, Hyundai is likely to update the tail lamps and the bumper. Hyundai is likely to offer incremental updates rather than a full-fledged upgrade.
Hyundai could also update the tailgate, amongst others. Overall, with the i20 offering a sporty styling, it remains to be seen what Hyundai has in store for the hatchback.
On the inside, Hyundai is likely to add some features. One of these could be the dashcam which is already offered on other models in the company line-up. The regular i20 could also be offered with the paddle shifters that are currently offered only on the N Line trim of the hatchback.
Hyundai i20 is likely to retain the same set of engines as before. These include the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1.0-litre turbo petrol. In terms of gearbox options, customers can choose from 5-speed manual, 5-speed IVT or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
With these updates, expect the price of the car to go slightly higher. For instance, the current i20 sells for INR 7.46-11.88 lakh with the N Line coming in at INR 10.18-12.31 lakh. All prices ex-showroom.
