It is well known that Force Motors is looking at launching the new updated Gurkha. While it is confirmed that the new Gurkha will come with a BS 6 Phase II powerplant, there could be some other updates as well.
According to a media report, the company is looking to add more features to the Gurkha. These could include a larger infotainment unit, a digital instrument cluster and new folding ORVMs with internal adjustment. There could also be front seat armrests amongst others.
On the outside, it is said that the Gurkha will get updated grills for headlamps, turn indicators and fog lamps.
Coming to changes under the hood, expect the engine to comply with the BS6 Phase II emission regulations. Force Motors is currently working on the NOx sensors.
Force is likely to upgrade the SUV’s suspension and the 4×4 system. More details are awaited. According to reports, the new Gurkha could be seen in showrooms by August 2023.
Test mule of the 5-door Gurkha was seen earlier. With the launch of the new 5-door Suzuki Jimny and the upcoming 5-d00r Mahindra Thar, Force could do well by launching this SUV sooner than later. This time, the test mule gets a different front end. It now resembles the Force Citiline MUV and has rectangular headlamps. The bumper gets camouflage, but it bears resemblance to the Citiline bumper as well. This is a welcome departure from the 3-door Gurkha’s circular headlamps and dual horizontal slat grille.
We have also spotted a pick-up version of the 5-door Gurkha with a soft top. The test mule gets a fabric soft top on the bed area of the pick-up as seen in the video. We can also note the front snorkel and 18-inch alloy wheels carried over from the Gurkha.
