Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha has announced two new colour schemes for the YZF-R15 V4 in the Indonesian market. The two new colours in question include Tech Black and Icon Performance, along with 2 other colours. These include Icon Blue and the WGP 60th Livery edition.
Yamaha also launched the 2022 YZF-R15 V4 in India back in September 2021 with 3 standard colour options. These include Metallic Red, Dark Knight, and Racing Blue. However, Yamaha has not stated or confirmed whether they will bring the two new colour schemes to India.
In India, Yamaha has priced the standard Metallic Red YZF-R15 V4 at INR 1,67,800 (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Dark Knight colour scheme for the bike costs INR 1,68,800 (ex-showroom). Additionally, Yamaha’s signature Racing Blue colour scheme for the bike costs INR 1,72,800 (ex-showroom). However, Yamaha has priced the R15M at INR 1,77,800 (ex-showroom) and announced a limited edition Monster Yamaha MotoGP livery. The YZF-R15 V4 with this upcoming livery will cost INR 1,79,800 (ex-showroom).
In Indonesia, the R15 V4 with the new ‘Icon Performance’ colour scheme sports silver body panels with blue highlights. The bike features blue-coloured rims, a blue trapezoid design on the front cowl, and blue sidelines with R15 lettering. The new ‘Tech Black’ colour scheme includes all matte-black finish for the bike with black-coloured rims for a stealthy look. Overall, both the Indonesian and Indian variants of the R15 V4 and R15M feature the same design details.
This includes a monocular headlamp integrated within the ram-air-intake-like recess on the nose fairing with two LED DRLs. Yamaha has also ensured to improve the aerodynamics of both variants for a better coefficient of drag (CdA). The new bikes now feature a CdA of 0.293 instead of the 0.307 found on the previous generation. Additionally, the bike features a bubble-style windscreen for enhanced wind and weather protection for the rider.
Yamaha has equipped the bike with a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with Variable Valve Actuation and electronic fuel injection. Therefore, the R15 V4 produces 18.4 PS of power and 14.2 Nm of torque via a 6-speed manual gearbox. The brand also offers an assist, and slipper clutch along with a quick-shifter for aggressive downshifts/upshifts.
