Yamaha has updated the R25 for 2022. Currently, only limited to the Indonesian market, but chances are high that Yamaha will introduce the motorcycle to other Asian markets very soon. However, this motorcycle won’t come to India. As a part of this update, Yamaha R25 only gets a new paint shade. The Racing Blue colour mixed with matte black gives the motorcycle a very striking outlook. The other colour option on offer is a Metallic Black option. One key inclusion is the golden USD forks, which further enhance the motorcycle’s sporty profile. This looks much more stealthy and aggressive. Apart from paint shade, there’s no other mechanical or aesthetic update.
Mechanical And Powertrain
Powering the motorcycle is a 250cc liquid-cooled unit that makes 36 BHP and 22.6 Nm. The motor is equipped with a 6-speed, constant mesh transmission. The overall kerb weight stands at 166 kg. Fuel capacity of 14.30 litre, which is adequate enough for daily commutes and occasional weekend trips. The suspension setup makes use of upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock unit, while the braking duties are handled by single discs on both wheels. Key features include, a twin-pod LED headlight setup, fairing-mounted rear-view mirrors, digital instrument cluster, a muscular fuel tank, clip-on handlebars, split-style seats, and an LED taillight. Dual-channel ABS is a standard offering.
Yamaha India’s Future Plans
As it stands, Yamaha has had its story of success in the country. The motorcycle maker is particularly famous amongst the enthusiast’s community. Offerings like the R15 and MT15 are key attractions that sell in good numbers. Yamaha has plans to launch the updated MT15 very soon. This motorcycle will get its updates very similar to the one that we saw on the R15 V4. With this, Yamaha will have a wide lineup of updated products in its portfolio.
