Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Yamaha has pulled the covers off its 2022 Aerox 155 maxi-scooter, specifically for the Indonesian market. Yamaha may introduce the updated Aerox 155 maxi-scooter for the Indian market during the latter half of 2022. Meanwhile, the updated Indonesia-bound scooter showcases six new colours, two for the ABS variant and four for the Connected variant. However, Yamaha has made any mechanical or features changes to the Aerox 155, which will likely continue for the India-specific version.
The 2022 Aerox 155 retains its iconic yet unique styling that appears as a cross between a motorcycle and scooter. With large LED headlamps, the maxi-scooter sports an ‘X’ centre motif, the “Heart-Shaking Speedster” design concept, and comfortable yet sporty ergonomics. The Indonesia-spec ABS variant gets the new Matte Black Gold and Matte White colour options with bronze-coloured wheels and graphics. Meanwhile, the connected version gets Matte Black Cyan, Dark Grey Yellow, Black with Red highlights and Red with contrasting Black bodywork.
Powering the Aerox 155 is the same 155cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC single-cylinder motor, developing 15 PS and 13.9 Nm. Along with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology and an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), the scooter sports a CVT automatic gearbox. The integration of VVA and ISG allows the Aerox 155 to showcase maximum efficiency whilst performing silent yet seamless starts. Along with automatic stop/start technology, to reduce fuel consumption, the scooter gets 14-inch alloy wheels on both ends.
Utilising an Underbone Frame Type chassis, the Aerox 155 gets telescopic front forks with a rear swingarm suspension for handling. Additionally, Yamaha has equipped the scooter with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. The Aerox 155 also gets 24.5-litres of under-seat storage and a 5.8-inch LCD instrumentation panel with Bluetooth connectivity. Other features of the updated Aerox 155 include USB charging, integrated LED DRLs, a LED taillamp, and an External Fuel Lid.
Recently, Yamaha introduced the updated 2022 R25 sportbike for the Indonesian market with an all-new paint shade. The motorcycle manufacturer is likely to introduce the updated R25 in other Asian markets except for the Indian market. Along with golden-coloured front forks and Racing Blue or Metallic Blue colour options, the R25 retains the same mechanicals.
