Japanese automotive giant Toyota has announced that it has launched two new base variants of its 2022 Innova Crysta MPV. In India, Toyota has introduced a 7-seater and an 8-seater version of its petrol GX variants with revised pricing. The 7-seater GX petrol costs INR 16.89 lakh (ex-showroom) whereas the 8-seater variant costs INR 16.94 lakh (ex-showroom).
For the GX trim of the 2022 Innova Crysta, Toyota offers basic equipment such as air-conditioning with rear AC vents. Along with fabric seats, the GX variant also sports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay via its 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, the GX variant also gets tilt and telescopic steering, airbags, ABS with EBD, VSC, and Hill Start Assist Control.
Toyota Kirloskar Motors offers the Innova Crysta in GX, VX, and the top-spec ZX trims for the Indian market. For 2022, the Innova Crysta MPV retains its trapezoidal radiator grille with a piano black finish and chrome accents. With neatly integrated LED headlamps, the front facia includes a revised front bumper and housing for the fog lamps.
Toyota offers the Innova Crysta in 7 colours – Garnet Red, White Pearl, Sparkling Black, Avant-Garde Bronze, Silver, Grey, and Super White. Other exterior highlights of the Innova Crysta include the 17-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, rear spoiler, and LED taillights. Toyota also offers the rear wiper with a washer as standard for the 2022 Innova Crysta MPV.
In 2021, Toyota updated the Innova Crysta by introducing BS6-compliant engines, which the MPV continues to use in 2022. The first engine is the 2.7-litre, four-cylinder Dual VVT petrol that produces 166 PS and 245 Nm. Toyota has paired this petrol engine to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed sequential-shift gearbox.
Meanwhile, the automaker also offers the 2.4-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel motor, producing 150 PS of power. However, the MPV produces 343 Nm with a 5-speed manual and 360 Nm with a 6-speed, sequential-shift automatic transmission. For the top-spec ZX trim, Toyota offers Camel Tan upholstery, front parking sensors, sim-based connected features, 7 airbags, and geo-fencing.
