MG Motors has announced that its 2022 facelifted ZS EV will get a 10.1-inch HD Touchscreen Infotainment System. Using its UK design cues, MG has implemented its CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric) vision on the new EV. The Chinese-owned British automaker also states that the new infotainment system will also support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. To retain the practicality and value for money aspect, the upcoming 2022 ZS EV will sport new features and designs.
Based on the recently released images, the 2022 MG ZS EV will feature a reprofiled front and rear end. The overall design of the upcoming EV now matches the brand’s recently launched Astor SUV with an updated front fascia. The upcoming ZV will sport a grille covering the front and a charging socket on the left of the MG logo. Meanwhile, the electric SUV will also sport LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, a new alloy wheel design, and LED taillights.
Even though MG has not yet revealed the entire features list for the upcoming ZS EV, speculations suggest otherwise. The images showcase a radar unit mounted on the centre of the front bumper that indicates an ADAS system. Much like the Astor SUV, the 2022 ZS EV is likely to feature Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assistance. Other features may include Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, and Speed Assist.
The upcoming ZS EV is a highly anticipated vehicle as the current-gen ZS EV from 2020 has witnessed resounding success. MG claims that the ZS EV offers the best-in-class practicality and the longest range when compared to EVs in India. Since 2020, the automaker has sold 4,000 units of the electric SUV and become the 2nd largest EV manufacturer. Along with taking 27% of the market share, MG provides its ZS EV customers with a 5-way charging ecosystem.
This includes free-of-cost AC fast-chargers at residences /offices, portable in-car charging cables, and DC superfast charging stations at dealerships. Additionally, MG Motors India also offers 24X7 charge-on-the-go facilities in 5 cities and charging stations at tourist hubs and satellite cities. MG India’s current portfolio consists of the Hector, ZS EV, Gloster, and recently launched Astor premium SUVs with headlining features.
