KTM has revealed the price of the 2022 RC 390 just days ahead of its official launch. Customers planning to buy one have to pay INR 3.14 lakh (ex-showroom), i.e. INR 36,000 more when compared to the current pricing. The pricing is already available on KTM India’s official website. But the good thing is, with the price hike, there is a lot more kit and features on offer. With all the updates, KTM 390 has become even more appealing to customers. The motorcycle is amongst the most sought after models in the 400cc segment. Even with more competition than before, the RC390 remains one of the sportiest options in the segment. Hence we wait to see how the market responds to the updated model.
2022 KTM RC 390 – What Are The Changes?
In terms of looks, RC390 retains its striking sporty appeal, which is also its USP. The motorcycle gets updated alloys similar to the ones we see in the updated RC 125 and RC 200. One differential is that the RC 390 gets two new colour options, namely, KTM Factory Racing Blue and KTM Electronic Orange. Other mechanical changes include adjustable suspension. From the specification, we understand there’s a preload adjustment for the rear monoshock. Interestingly, adjusters on the top of the forks mean we finally get the adjustable WP Apex suspension like the international model.
RC390 also gets a new full-LED headlight, ditching the previous projector units. The instrument console also gets a big update in the form of a Bluetooth-enabled, full-colour TFT display. In terms of safety, the rider gets electronic aid in the form of traction control and cornering ABS. The fuel tank can now carry 13.7-litres of petrol.
2022 KTM RC 390 – Engine & Gearbox
The power unit remains the same 373cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit. But, there’s a new engine map that, when coupled with a 40 per cent larger airbox, delivers 37 Nm torque, 1 Nm up from the current spec. Power output remains the same at 43.5 BHP. The equipped gearbox is a 6-speed unit with a slipper clutch. The bi-directional quick shifter is also a standard fitment with the new RC 390, which was only earlier available on the 390 Duke and Adventure.
