Kia India has launched the MY22 Seltos in India at a starting price of INR 10.19 lakh. The updated model brings multiple new features and a new transmission option with the diesel engine. The brand has upgraded the safety quotient of the SUV as well for 2022. Here are all the details.
2022 Kia Seltos – Price and Variants
The Seltos is available in 19 variants with three engine options. The SUV get a choice of 1.5-litre petrol, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The manufacturer offers five transmission options. The price range for the 1.5-litre petrol is INR 10.19 lakh ex-showroom for the HTE variant and INR 15.15 lakh ex-showroom for the HTX IVT variant. The turbocharged 1.4-litre petrol starts with GTX(O) priced at INR 15.85 lakh ex-showroom and tops out with the X-Line DCT at INR 18.15 lakh ex-showroom. The Seltos diesel range starts with the HTE variant priced at INR 11.09 lakh ex-showroom and ends with the X-Line AT priced at INR 18.45 lakh ex-showroom.

2022 Kia Seltos – Powertrain Options
The Kia Seltos comes with three engine options and five transmission choices. There are two petrol engine options – SmartStream 1.5 and 1.4 T-GDI; and one diesel – 1.5 CRDi with VGT. Transmission options available are a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, an IVT, a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The SmartStream 1.5-litre petrol produces 115 PS of power and 144 NM of torque coupled with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT or an IVT transmission. The 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine makes 140 PS of max power and 242 NM of torque. Transmission options with this engine are a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. The 1.5-litre diesel variable geometry turbo (VGT) makes 115 PS of power and 250 NM of torque. It is available with a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter automatic and the new 6-speed iMT transmission options.
2022 Kia Seltos – Top Features
Kia India is focussing on safety and with this update, it has made side airbags, all-round disc brakes and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System standard across the range. Also standard across the range are Brake Assist, ESC, VSM and Hill Assist Control. The manufacturer’s Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) is now paired with the diesel engine option. This makes it the first diesel engine in India to be available with an automated-manual transmission. The new combination is available only in HTK+ iMT.
Also, a new diesel variant, HTX AT debuts. For an enhanced driving experience, all the automatic versions of the vehicle will come with paddle shifters and multiple-drive and traction modes. Kia Seltos will also feature a new logo for the name and Kia Connect App. The refreshed Seltos will offer two new body colours – Imperial Blue and Sparkling Silver. Kia is also offering a new dual-tone colour – Gravity Grey+Aurora Black Pearl on the MY22 Seltos.
