MY22 Kawasaki Z900 launched in India at INR 8.42 lakh

Kawasaki announces the launch of the MY22 Z900. This naked sportbike has a reputation for its versatility. The previous generations of the model have already proved the motorcycle’s prowess in both comfort as well as performance. The 2022 model continues with the same and with some added features and design updates. The bike is very similar to the previous generation and retains the trademark Sugomi Styling. This gives the Z900 a crouching stance with a low position head and upswept tail. Some minor design updates highlight the motorcycle’s styling.

Technical Specification

Kawasaki Z900 continues to get the liquid-cooled in-line four 948cc motor. This is a DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshaft) unit with 16 valves. The performance figure stands at 125 PS and 98.6 Nm of torque. A gearbox is a 6-speed unit. To ensure proper grip and safety, Kawasaki equips the motorcycle with dual discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. The bike’s trellis frame is supported by inverted forks at the front and a horizontal back-link at the rear. The overall dimension of Z900 stands at 2,070 mm in length, 825 mm in width and 1,080 mm in height. The bike also comes with a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres.

Highlighting Features

Matching the performance, Kawasaki has also equipped the machine with some high tech kits. Kawasaki Traction Control is one such feature that enhances the riding experience and also adds to the safety aspect. To provide the rider with some excitement, the motorcycle also gets four riding modes. These are Sport, Road, Rain or manual settings. Interestingly, Kawasaki is also offering a Power Mode Selection. Here, the low power mode limits the output to approximately 55 per cent of the full power. Other notable features include TFT colour instrument display, smartphone connectivity, all-led lighting and more.

Kawasaki has listed the 2022 Z900 at an ex-showroom price of INR 8,42,000. Customers will only have one single colour option, i.e. the Metallic Spark Black.
